International Translation Day  was launched by the International Federation of Translators in 1953 and is celebrated every year on Sept. 30. That date also marks the feast day of St. Jerome, the Bible translator who is considered the patron saint of translators. And just like St. Jerome who made the Bible accessible to a far wider audience by translating it from Hebrew into Latin, translators break down language barriers every day and allow written text of any nature to be enjoyed beyond the confines of the language it was originally conceived in.

Sept. 30 the day to pay tribute to translators!
